Winter

Gan Ilanot has been learning about winter. We began by learning about the winter solstice, and how that was the least amount of daylight during the day. The students compared our forest to a rain forest, and we figured out that temperature really effects the way our forest looks. Rain forests stay pretty much the same all year round. Our forest loses its leaves and many animals seem to disappear. We figured out that animals respond to the temperature by storing food, hibernating or migrating south. The children wrote about their favorite parts of winter.
